Do I need underlayment for hybrid flooring?

We recommend using an underlayment for installation over concrete flooring, but please be aware that most of our products have an attached pad, thus not requiring an underlayment. Can hybrid flooring be installed over existing flooring?

Concrete: Yes, hybrid flooring can be installed over concrete as long as the subfloor has been prepped and levelled. Please refer to the installation instructions and warranty information for more details.

Ceramic: Yes, the floor must be well attached, and the grout must be levelled prior to installation. Please consult your installation instructions and warranty for more details.

Plywood: Yes, the plywood must be structurally sound and installed according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.

Where can I install hybrid flooring?

Hybrid flooring is an ideal choice for almost any room and all levels of the home. The durability of the flooring is perfect for high-traffic areas such as kitchens, family rooms, and entryways. Additionally, the water-resistant or waterproof qualities allow vinyl flooring to be installed in rooms with increased moisture or below-grade rooms like basements, bathrooms, and laundry areas. We recommend working out of multiple boxes to attain a natural, random appearance on the floor.

Yes, an expansion gap is needed for hybrid flooring to allow for expansion or contracting due to temperature changes. Please see your product installation materials for specific instructions on the necessary expansion gap.

Does hybrid look realistic to natural hardwood?

Yes, hybrid flooring is a rigid core luxury vinyl that looks and feels like authentic hardwood or tile and is available in a  textured finish. When installing, we recommend mixing planks from several boxes to achieve a natural blended look.

Can hybrid flooring be glued down?

How do I clean hybrid flooring?

Use cleaners recommended and approved for use on hybrid floors by the manufacturer. Do not use abrasive cleaners, bleach or wax to maintain the floor, which might permanently damage the floor.
