Midnight is a deep charcoal-grey oak with lighter grain highlights – the darkest colour in the range. It anchors large, bright rooms and suits modern and industrial interiors with white walls and light furniture. Apollo 1500 is Godfrey Hirst’s best-selling hybrid range, and Midnight is one of its 12 colours.

Range name change: Godfrey Hirst now sells this floor as Apollo 1500. It is the same product previously listed as Apollo XL – same 1500 x 180mm board, same construction.

Where it works best

Because Apollo 1500 is waterproof and hard wearing, Midnight can run through open-plan living, kitchens, hallways, bedrooms and wet areas without a change of floor at doorways. Its dark tone works best in bright, generous rooms and gives a strong contrast to pale walls and light furniture.

Installation and care

Apollo 1500 floats over concrete slabs, tiles, timber and existing sheet flooring that is flat, dry and clean. Boards click together with the Uniclic® system and need no glue, and the attached backing means no extra underlay. Sweep or vacuum regularly and damp-mop with a pH-neutral cleaner; the PUR coating resists stains from everyday spills.

Yes. Godfrey Hirst renamed the range; the board, colours and construction are unchanged.

Can I install it in a bathroom?
Yes. The limestone-composite core is waterproof, so it is suitable for bathrooms and laundries when installed to Godfrey Hirst’s guidelines.

Do I need underlay?
No. A 1.5mm acoustic underlay is already attached to every board.

How many boxes do I need?
Each box covers 1.62m². Measure your room area, add about 10% for cuts and wastage, and divide by 1.62.
