Franklin is a classic mid-brown oak with balanced grain – neither yellow nor grey. It is the safe all-rounder for family homes and suits traditional, Hamptons and modern-classic interiors alike. Apollo 1500 is Godfrey Hirst’s best-selling hybrid range, and Franklin is one of its 12 colours.

Where it works best

Because Apollo 1500 is waterproof and hard wearing, Franklin can run through open-plan living, kitchens, hallways, bedrooms and wet areas without a change of floor at doorways. Its mid tone is the most forgiving choice for everyday marks and suits almost any wall colour.

Installation and care

Apollo 1500 floats over concrete slabs, tiles, timber and existing sheet flooring that is flat, dry and clean. Boards click together with the Uniclic® system and need no glue, and the attached backing means no extra underlay. Sweep or vacuum regularly and damp-mop with a pH-neutral cleaner; the PUR coating resists stains from everyday spills.

Is Apollo 1500 the same as Apollo XL?
Yes. Godfrey Hirst renamed the range; the board, colours and construction are unchanged.

Can I install it in a bathroom?
Yes. The limestone-composite core is waterproof, so it is suitable for bathrooms and laundries when installed to Godfrey Hirst’s guidelines.

Do I need underlay?
No. A 1.5mm acoustic underlay is already attached to every board.

How many boxes do I need?
Each box covers 1.62m². Measure your room area, add about 10% for cuts and wastage, and divide by 1.62.
