Coastal Hardwood is a pale, washed grey-beige timber look with a beachy feel. It suits coastal and Hamptons interiors and keeps rooms light. Metropol 1200 is Godfrey Hirst’s value hybrid: a 6mm waterproof board in a shorter 1200mm format that is easy to handle and quick to lay. Coastal Hardwood is one of 12 colours in the range.

Because Metropol 1200 is waterproof and hard wearing, Coastal Hardwood can run through open-plan living, kitchens, hallways, bedrooms and wet areas without a change of floor at doorways. Its light tone helps smaller or south-facing rooms feel larger and hides dust and pet hair better than very dark floors.

Installation and care

Metropol 1200 floats over concrete slabs, tiles, timber and existing sheet flooring that is flat, dry and clean. Boards click together with the Uniclic® watertight system and need no glue, and the attached backing means no extra underlay. Sweep or vacuum regularly and damp-mop with a pH-neutral cleaner.

Can I install it in a bathroom?
Yes. The limestone-composite core is waterproof, so it is suitable for bathrooms and laundries when installed to Godfrey Hirst’s guidelines.

Do I need underlay?
No. A 1.5mm acoustic underlay is already attached to every board.

How many boxes do I need?
Each box covers 2.18m². Measure your room area, add about 10% for cuts and wastage, and divide by 2.18.
