Godfrey Hirst Corsica Herringbone Coffee Oak – dark brown oak engineered timber flooring
Coffee Oak is a dark brown French oak with rich grain. It suits traditional interiors and contrasts with pale walls. Corsica Herringbone is the parquetry version of Corsica Oak: 600 x 125mm French oak blocks supplied in left- and right-hand sets for a classic herringbone floor. Coffee Oak is one of 4 colours in the range.
Why choose Corsica Herringbone Coffee Oak
- Real 3mm French oak wear layer – genuine timber that can be re-sanded and refinished later in life.
- multiply core – far more stable than solid timber, so boards resist cupping and gapping through Australian seasons.
- matte with light brushing – low-sheen, low-maintenance and ready to walk on straight after installation.
- tongue-and-groove, glued down installation – traditional joints for a solid, permanent floor.
- 25-year residential warranty from Godfrey Hirst, an Australian company since 1865.

Where it works best
Coffee Oak suits living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and dining areas, and can be laid over most existing hard floors. Engineered timber is not recommended for bathrooms or laundries. Its dark tone works best in bright, generous rooms and gives strong contrast to pale walls and light furniture.
Installation and care
Corsica Herringbone is glued or secret-nailed to a flat, dry subfloor. Sweep or vacuum regularly and clean with a well-wrung damp mop and a timber-floor cleaner; use felt pads under furniture and keep humidity moderate.

Frequently asked questions
Is this real timber?
Yes. The top layer is 3mm French oak bonded to a multiply core – the same wood as a solid floor, with far better stability.
Can it be sanded and refinished?
Yes. A 3mm wear layer allows at least one full re-sand over the life of the floor.
How many boxes do I need?
Each box covers 1.5m². Measure your room area, add about 10% for cuts and wastage, and divide by 1.5.
