Aluminium trims: which profile
L Trim Small (25 x 8mm) and L Trim Large (30 x 20mm) finish an exposed edge at a step, threshold or sliding-door track. C Trim Top (25mm) and H Trim Top (38mm, with 1mm gasket) are two-part transitions: the top clips onto a silver C/H Trim Base chosen to suit the floor thickness (6, 8, 10, 12, 14 or 20mm). The Universal Cover (50 x 8.4mm) bridges two floors of similar height, and the Ramp Cover on its silver Ramp Base (6–15mm) covers a step down to a lower floor. All covers come in the 30 colours above; bases are silver only. Custom powder-coated colours are available on request.
Scotia matched to the floor colour
Clever Choice makes a scotia in the same decor as the plank, so the skirting-line finish matches the floor. Scotia Classic / Hydro suits the Classic Magnitude, Classic Profuse, Hydro Merit and Hydro Pro Grand laminates; Scotia Shield suits Shield Everlast and Everlast Herringbone; Scotia Hybrid (15 x 15mm) suits the Fusion, Enchanted, Ocean, Superior, Scenic and Immortal Chevron hybrids. Stair nosing
Premade stair nosing is a square-profile nosing in the floor colour, ready to install: 2400mm lengths for Classic, Hydro and Shield laminate and for 6, 7.5, 8, 9 and 10mm hybrid, plus shorter 1520–1850mm lengths for Classic 12mm and 6mm and 9mm hybrid. Custom stair nosing is made to order from a plank of your floor in any colour of the range, for vinyl, hybrid, laminate, engineered oak, Australian timber and bamboo; allow 5–10 working days and order about 50mm longer than each step.

Which trim colour goes with my Clever Choice floor?
Every Clever Choice colour page on this site lists the suggested trim colour from the Clever Choice price list, for example Keppel Blackbutt for most blackbutt decors and Bruny Spotted Gum for spotted gum decors. If in doubt, order a sample.
Do I need a base plate?
Only for the C Trim Top, H Trim Top and Ramp Cover. Choose the C/H Trim Base to match your floor thickness; the Ramp Base adjusts from 6 to 15mm. L trims and the Universal Cover are single-piece profiles.
How many scotia lengths do I need?
Measure the perimeter of the room in metres, subtract door openings, divide by 2.4 and round up. Scotia is sold per length and packed 30 to a carton.
Is the stair nosing waterproof?
The premade nosing is made from the same plank as the floor, so a hybrid nosing has the same water resistance as the hybrid plank. Laminate nosings should be kept out of wet areas.
