Topdeck Project Oak Rome Grey – mid grey-brown engineered timber flooring
Rome Grey is the mid grey-brown colour in the Project Oak range. Project Oak is Topdeck’s value engineered oak: a 190mm-wide, 1900mm-long board with a 2mm oak veneer over a multi-layer core, coated in the factory with an 8-layer matt finish. Rome Grey is one of 6 colours in the range.
Why choose Project Oak Rome Grey
- Real oak wear layer – genuine timber that can be re-sanded and refinished later in life.
- Engineered multi-layer core – far more stable than solid timber through Australian seasons.
- Matt finish – 8-layer UV coating, low sheen.
- Floating or secret-nail installation – lays over underlay, or is nailed to a timber subfloor.
- 25-year domestic warranty from Topdeck.

Where it works best
Rome Grey suits living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and dining areas. Engineered timber is not recommended for bathrooms or laundries. Its mid tone is the most forgiving choice for everyday marks and suits almost any wall colour.
Installation and care
Project Oak is laid on a flat, dry subfloor. Sweep or vacuum regularly and clean with a well-wrung damp mop and a timber-floor cleaner; use felt pads under furniture.

Frequently asked questions
Is this real timber?
Yes. The top layer is oak bonded to an engineered core – the same wood as a solid floor, with far better stability.
Can it be sanded and refinished?
Yes, the timber wear layer allows refinishing over the life of the floor.
How many cartons do I need?
Each carton covers 2.17m². Measure your room area, add about 10% for cuts and wastage, and divide by 2.17m².
