Sunstar Oak Classics 12mm Wooyung – dark grey oak engineered timber flooring
Wooyung is the dark grey oak colour in the Oak Classics 12mm range. Oak Classics 12mm is Sunstar’s builder-grade European oak: a 1.2mm oak lamella on a 12mm engineered core with a Droplock joint, the most affordable way into a real timber floor. Wooyung is one of 22 colours in the range.
Why choose Oak Classics 12mm Wooyung
- Real European oak wear layer – genuine timber that can be re-sanded and refinished later in life.
- Engineered multi-layer core – far more stable than solid timber through Australian seasons.
- A matte UV-cured lacquer finish – low-sheen and low-maintenance.
- Floating or direct stick – lays over underlay on most flat, dry subfloors.
- 20-year residential, 5-year commercial warranty from Sunstar.

Where it works best
Wooyung suits living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and dining areas. Engineered timber is not recommended for bathrooms or laundries. Its dark tone works best in bright, generous rooms and gives strong contrast to pale walls and light furniture.
Installation and care
Oak Classics 12mm is laid on a flat, dry subfloor. Sweep or vacuum regularly and clean with a well-wrung damp mop and a timber-floor cleaner; use felt pads under furniture.

Frequently asked questions
Is this real timber?
Yes. The top layer is European oak bonded to an engineered core – the same wood as a solid floor, with far better stability.
Can it be sanded and refinished?
Yes, the timber wear layer allows refinishing over the life of the floor.
How many cartons do I need?
Each carton covers 2.888m². Measure your room area, add about 10% for cuts and wastage, and divide by 2.888.
