Sydney Blue Gum Matte is a real hardwood engineered floor by Hurford, displaying pink-toned red-brown Sydney Blue Gum with a low-sheen finish. The surface brings the natural variation of timber into living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and open-plan interiors. Its engineered format provides a stable foundation while using genuine hardwood where it is seen and walked on.
HM Walk uses a premium 0.6mm hardwood veneer over a plantation-eucalypt plywood core. The layered construction balances the strength of Australian hardwood and supports efficient use of the surface species. A 13-coat finish incorporating aluminium oxide helps protect the smooth surface from everyday wear.
Why choose Sydney Blue Gum Matte?
This version is 12.5mm with a 0.6mm veneer, with an 1830mm plank length and 136mm width. It uses a Välinge 5G glueless joining system, a micro bevel on the sides and ends, and a matte 13-coat aluminium-oxide finish. Pack coverage is 1.493m² per carton. Depending on the selected HM Walk construction and site conditions, the floor may be floated or direct glued in accordance with the current installation guide.

Planning your floor
Natural hardwood boards vary in grain, feature and tone. View a physical sample and allow for variation across the completed installation. A dry, flat, clean and structurally sound subfloor is essential. Check moisture levels, expansion requirements and underlay or adhesive compatibility before laying. Only use an approved method over a suitable heating system, and follow the latest Hurford guide for temperature limits and room dimensions.

When calculating quantities, measure the full installation area and include an allowance for cuts, layout selection and future repairs. Ordering the required cartons together can also help keep material from a consistent production batch. Ask us to confirm stock and delivery lead times before scheduling installation.
