Godfrey Hirst Polaris 1200 Tan Hardwood – warm tan timber vinyl plank flooring
Tan Hardwood is a warm tan timber look with balanced grain. It suits classic and family interiors. Polaris 1200 is the shorter, 3mm format of the Polaris range – Australian species and oak looks with a 0.5mm wear layer and the top P5 slip rating. All colours are also available in the longer, thicker Polaris 1500. Tan Hardwood is one of 12 colours in the range.
Why choose Polaris 1200 Tan Hardwood
- 100% waterproof glue-down vinyl – suitable for kitchens, bathrooms, laundries and whole-home installs; spills and wet feet are no problem.
- 0.5mm wear layer – a commercial-grade wear layer with a scratch- and stain-resistant coating, built for pets, kids and high-traffic areas.
- P5 slip rating (AS 4586) – the highest wet-pendulum rating available, ideal for wet areas and commercial use.
- Realistic timber look – embossed matte surface with micro-bevel edges for a natural finish.
- Direct-stick installation – glued to a flat, dry subfloor for a solid, quiet floor with no hollow sound; thin profile means minimal height build-up at doorways.
- 25-year residential warranty from Godfrey Hirst, an Australian company since 1865.

Where it works best
Because Polaris 1200 is waterproof and glued down, Tan Hardwood suits kitchens, bathrooms, laundries, hallways and living areas, and is a popular choice for rentals, granny flats and commercial fit-outs. Its mid tone is the most forgiving choice for everyday marks and suits almost any wall colour.
Installation and care
Polaris 1200 is a direct-stick product: the subfloor must be flat, dry and smooth (concrete slabs usually need a levelling compound), and the planks are glued with a pressure-sensitive vinyl adhesive. We recommend professional installation. Sweep or vacuum regularly and damp-mop with a pH-neutral cleaner.

Frequently asked questions
Is it waterproof?
Yes. Vinyl plank is 100% waterproof and suitable for bathrooms and laundries when installed to Godfrey Hirst’s guidelines.
Can I lay it myself?
Glue-down vinyl needs a properly prepared subfloor and the right adhesive, so most customers use an installer. Ask us for a supply-and-install price.
How many boxes do I need?
Each box covers 3.35m². Measure your room area, add about 10% for cuts and wastage, and divide by 3.35.
