Airlay Horizon Cushion Back Edge – dark charcoal carpet plank
Edge is the dark charcoal colour in the Horizon Cushion Back range. Horizon is a heathered plank-format tile that lays in herringbone or brick patterns, here on a cushion back for quieter floors. Edge is one of 6 colours in the range.
Why choose Horizon Cushion Back Edge
- 100% solution-dyed nylon – solution-dyed yarn holds its colour through the fibre, so it resists fading and cleans up well.
- Tufted multi-level loop pile – a low, dense pile that stands up to chairs, castors and foot traffic.
- Cushion back (PET / PU) backing – a cushioned base that is quieter and softer underfoot, with better impact-sound performance for offices and apartments.
- Modular plank format – 25cm x 100cm, laid loose or tacked with a release adhesive, so worn or stained planks swap out without disturbing the rest of the floor.
- 15-year limited warranty from Airlay.

Where it works best
Edge suits offices, meeting rooms, retail fit-outs, education and healthcare spaces, and works equally well in home studies and media rooms where a hard-wearing, easy-care floor is wanted. Its dark tone works best in bright, generous rooms and gives strong contrast to pale walls and light furniture.
Installation and care
Horizon Cushion Back planks are laid over a smooth, dry, level subfloor with a release adhesive or tackifier, in a herringbone, brick or ashlar pattern. Vacuum regularly and spot-clean spills promptly; the planks can be lifted for deeper cleaning or replacement.

Frequently asked questions
Can I lay carpet planks myself?
Yes – modular carpet is one of the most DIY-friendly floors. Prepare the subfloor, use the recommended tackifier and follow the arrows on the back for direction.
Is it suitable for commercial use?
Yes. Horizon Cushion Back is rated for commercial traffic, and the modular format means damaged planks are replaced individually rather than relaying a room.
How many cartons do I need?
Each carton covers 5m². Measure your room area, add about 10% for cuts and wastage, and divide by 5.
