The coating is only one part of the result. Substrate condition, preparation, moisture, traffic, sunlight, chemicals, cleaning and slip requirements should be assessed together.

Grinding or another approved method creates a clean, sound surface and exposes defects that need repair.

FAQs

Before you book

How long before I can park on it?
Cure and return-to-service times vary by resin system, coating thickness, temperature and humidity. Follow the written handover schedule for foot traffic, vehicles and chemical exposure.
Will it peel or bubble?
Coatings fail for two reasons: poor preparation, and moisture rising through the slab. Preparation and moisture assessment should follow the selected coating manufacturer’s requirements and the site conditions. If the slab reads high you need a moisture barrier primer — we’d rather quote it than watch the floor fail.
Can you coat over my existing epoxy or paint?
Sometimes, but usually not. A new coat is only as good as the bond underneath it. We assess it at the measure. If it has to come off, choose “Old coating, paint or tile glue” in the calculator so the estimate includes the extra preparation.
Why is preparation such a big part of the price?
Preparation establishes the bond and exposes defects. A useful quote states the preparation method, repairs, primer, coating build and exclusions instead of showing one unexplained rate per square metre.
Do I need to empty the garage first?
Yes. The floor has to be completely clear, including the fridge, shelving and anything fixed to the slab. We can quote to shift heavy items if you need a hand.
Is the calculator price what I’ll actually pay?
It’s close for a straightforward job. What moves it: a slab needing significant repair, a failed moisture reading, difficult access, or asbestos in the existing floor covering. All of those get identified at the measure and quoted in writing before anything starts.
